Local transportation includes taxis, buses, and an MRT rail system.
The advent of special bus lanes and the MRT in Taipei has relieved the traffic congestion greatly in the past five years. Prior to this, overcrowded public buses would terrorize other cars and motorcycles by weaving in and out of the far right lane where the bus stops were.
