Automated tellering machines (ATMs) machines at the airport are located at the branch of the Bank of China, which accepts major credit cards and bank cards provided they are affiliated with Chinese banks -- most are. Money can be changed inside the bank. Locals will also offer to change money at a slightly higher rate but this is illegal and counterfeit bills abound in Shanghai so watch your step.

Just outside the airport building are Chinese bank branches including the China Merchant's Bank, China Everbright Bank and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
