Skydiving

Newcomers can either go for a freefall experience (tandem) or get into the learning process (static line) immediately. In the tandem jump, a student wears a harness which connects him/her to the instructor. The instructor deploys and pilots the canopy to the landing area. The advantage to this method is that it gives the student freefall experience of about 36 seconds (from 10,000 to 5,000 ft) and a canopy ride of about 3 to 4 minutes; a great initiation into the sport.

The static line progression is for those who want to really get into the sport. It consists of 5 jumps where the canopy is automatically deployed using a line that is connected to the airplane. After being shown proper body position and learning how to pull a practice ripcord, the student goes on to make short freefall jumps, gradually gaining the skills necessary to jump on his/her own.

Tandem jump - 9,000 pesos from 10,000 feet, includes ground training (1-1/2 hrs), equipment, plane ride (one way!)

Philippine Sky Sports offers training for every level of student: from one-time flyers who just want a tandem flight, to new students who want to learn, to the advanced pilot who wants additional training and clinics. The company also arranges for adventure tours such as flying, diving, rafting, horseback riding, etc.

The 30-minute tandem flight is a one-time offering that should interest tourists who just want to fly with an instructor for the experience. The 2,000-peso price on this includes transportation to and from the site. For an extra 500 pesos, Sky sports can provide photos and a certificate.

The 11-day beginner package costs 40,000 pesos, which covers gear and transportation. Completion of the course merits a student with a certification to pilot all over the world.

For advanced pilots the school offers additional clinics, advanced ratings and higher certifications. Prices are commensurate to the extensiveness of the clinic: from two to six days. For pilots of any caliber, tours include two, four and nine-day programs, as well as custom packages. Prices also depend on the location and length of the tour.
