There is a huge number of automated tellering machines in Bangkok, and all banks are members of the ATM pool, which means that cards can be used at any bank's ATM, not just that of the issuer. There are no drive-through ATMs in the business district, but the ubiquity of machines makes this largely unnecessary. They can be found in all bank branches, at 7-Eleven stores, at garage forecourts, shopping malls, and in the lobbies of major office buildings.

Foreigners may open a bank account upon presenting their passport. The minimum deposit is usually 500 baht, and an ATM card can be supplied in about a week.
